Following a six month planning process, the North Coast Community Housing (NCCH) Board has announced the succession of its Chairman, effective 30 June 2017.
John Stone, the company’s Chairman since July 2005, will be succeeded as Chair by Robyn Hordern, a current non-executive director of NCCH.
John has served as a Director of NCCH for over 12 years and will remain on NCCH’s Board as a Director until the Company AGM is held in November.
Incoming NCCH Chair, Robyn Hordern, joined the NCCH Board as a non-executive Director in November 2012. Her appointment as Chair follows a distinguished career within the public and private sectors. Robyn was Councillor for the Ballina Shire for two terms (eight years), including the position of Deputy Mayor.
Robyn is the owner-operator of a local tourist accommodation, specially catering for those with disabilities. She has been an active member of the North Coast community for more than 30 years and the local area is home to four generations of her family.
Robyn has owned and operated several local businesses, has held sales and marketing roles with local radio and television networks, was the project coordinator for the Department of State and Regional Development, and was also a facilitator and mentor with the Business Enterprise Centre.
Director Hordern said that “I am very pleased to be appointed as Chair of North Coast Community Housing. I am passionate about what we have accomplished so far, and am excited about what we will continue to achieve as we work together to provide appropriate housing for the most vulnerable people in our community. continuing to work with him until his retirement later this year”.
Outgoing Chair, John Stone remarked, “I am confident that under Robyn’s leadership, we will continue to achieve our vision of Providing homes, Improving lives and Strengthening communities.
